Use the SmartKey to Roll Down the Windows

Let’s say it’s a hot day outside and you want to get some air into your vehicle before you head out for a drive. Well, you can do this from inside your home or office if the SmartKey is within reach of your vehicle.

Just hold down the unlock button. Your vehicle lights will flash and both the front and rear windows will roll down. For those whose vehicle has a sunroof or convertible top, you can open those to. Just continue holding down the button and eventually they will start to open.

How to Save Battery Life On Your Key Fob

Like any electronic device, your car’s key fob can die. But, how many key fobs out there allow you to conserve battery life. Well, we can tell you the Mercedes-Benz SmartKey allows this feature and it’s super simple to use.

If you won’t be using your car for a while, you can press the lock button twice to deactivate the key. Nothing special is needed to activate it again. As soon as you press another button on the fob, it will jump back to life.

How to Change Door Lock and Unlock Settings on the Mercedes-Benz SmartKey

Many vehicles allow you to change certain settings for your key fob by going through the infotainment display, but with the SmartKey, this can be done right through the key fob. If you want to set the fob so that only the driver’s door unlocks when you press the button, just hold down both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. Doing so again, will change the settings back so that all doors unlock.

It may be a small thing, but the features found in the Mercedes-Benz SmartKey are one more example of how the details matter when it comes to a luxury experience. Check back to the John Sisson Motors blog for more info on your Mercedes-Benz model.
