There are many things to do over Labor Day weekend 2019, and you won’t want to miss up the chance to celebrate the changing of the seasons here in the Pittsburgh area. 2019 Labor Day Weekend Events & Activities | Pittsburgh
Happening the Saturday before Labor Day, this historic tour of downtown Pittsburgh is a great way to get some exercise and learn a little history. This includes the Diamond Market, Fort Pitt and more. It’s a great way to explore this great city we all love.
Do you like good food? Then you might want to check out Taste of Greece at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. The festival actually begins before the long Labor Day weekend, stretching from August 28 – Sept 1. Included on the menu is moussaka, a pork gyro and more traditional Greek dishes. Whether you have personal ties to Greek culture or just like some food and fun, it’s worth checking out.
Another option for those who love good food is the Labor Day Chicken Bar-B-Q at The Spring House in Washington, PA, happening Labor Day Monday. There is an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 9am – 11am and lunch/dinner from 11am – 9pm. On the menu is BBQ chicken, corn pudding, mashed potatoes, roast beef, baked beans and more.
For something a bit more unique, the Renaissance Festival in Pittsburgh is a great option. Dates around Labor Day are Sept 1 – 2, but there are additional dates as well throughout August and September. The festival is open from 10:30am – 6:30pm featuring acts, entertainment, music and more. That weekend is the Prince, Princess & Pirate Party weekend, which is great for ages 12 and under as they get in for free with a paying adult ticket and can enjoy activities like a costume contest.
