Should I Buy the Mercedes CLA?
Obviously the prestige of the Mercedes-Benz brand and the badge means a lot to anyone thinking of buying one of these vehicles, but the striking design of this car that was a milestone for the brand when it was introduced has to be the biggest incentive. The CLA borrows a large amount from the outgoing CLS design, especially its daring sloping roofline. However, the smaller CLA takes the CLS concept and improves upon it with some very smart details of its own. The Mercedes CLA may be the entry point to the current Mercedes-Benz range, but it doesn't feel like any corners have been cut in terms of standard features and equipment. Standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, vinyl upholstery, a power adjustable driver's seat, a rearview camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, and an 8.0-inch infotainment screen. This year has seen an Ice Edition added for CLA 250 models and an AMG® Studio Edition for the CLA 45 that deliver elements of extra aggression to what is already a swagger-heavy sedan.
Is the Mercedes CLA a Good Car?
Good is, of course, a relative term. One person's good will be the vehicle that costs them the least--but if you're considering the CLA, we're guessing your definition of good is going to be focused on performance. The CLA comes in three versions (CLA 250, CLA 250 4MATIC® and AMG® CLA 45) and in all three cases it comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four. In the two non-AMG® models, the engine produces a pretty impressive 208 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque that delivers a 0-60 mph time of just a little under seven seconds. The handcrafted version of that engine in the AMG® CLA 45 ups the power ante to 375 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft., which results in a blistering 0-60 mph time of just 4.1 seconds.
Does the Mercedes CLA have a Sunroof?
Mercedes-Benz includes three models in their CLA: the CLA 250 Coupe, the CLA 250 4MATIC® Coupe, and the AMG® CLA 45 Coupe. In all three models, the Panorama Roof, which opens and tilts and expands across the entire cabin, is an optional feature.
